Perspiration is a mechanism the body uses to maintain a constant temp, another mech with the same effect is?
When the human body begins to overheat, it attempts to maintain a constant temperature through serveral mechanisms, including perspiration. Another mechanism with the same effect is? Choose from the following:
1) a decrease in the blood volume
2) expansion of the skin’s blood vessels
3) conservation of body fluids and salts
4) a decrease in food digestion
5) a decrease in urine production
My answer was Number 3.
The other method is #2. As the blood vessels at the skin dilate, they allow more blood to flow to the skin and to transfer the heat that the blood carries to the air (or whatever) that is in contact with the skin. This is why, when you are hot, your skin reddens.
But number 3 would be the opposite of perspiration, wouldn’t it?
