Why does my perspiration burn my eyes?
I was dancing and worked up a sweat. The perspiration from my forehead got in my eyes, and it felt like acid was burning me. Why are my eyes so sensitive to my own perspiration?

hello i know why, its becauze of what u drink and sometimes when u dont drink enough your pee *exuse my language* travels differently to other parts of the body. but dont freak just because pee is going in ur eyes go to walgreens and get some eye drops for dry eyes and an energy drink of some sort but it has to have alot of salt in it! DOCTORS ORDERS!!!
Perspiration contains a high level of salt - hence the burning eyes.
i think is something to do with the skin care or sunblock you use.
sweat contains quite a bit of salt, which would be the reason… everyone has that problem hehe
Sweat contains urea - the same pungent waste product found in urine. It is also knwn as uric acid - ie your sweat is acidic, which is why it burns your eyes.
Wear a sweat band next time you work out:)
your eyes are very rich in salt, so the salty sweat makes no sense. Salt will not burn your eyes, that is why people that wear contact lenses soak the lenses in saline (salt) solution when they are not in their eyes… Spazzcat is absolutely correct. It’s the uric acid. Drink more water…your sweat is too concentrated and needs water to dilute it.
